The Nintendo 3DS, which is part of the company’s DS series of gaming consoles, will be the first in its range to provide a 3D illusion during gaming, an effect that is achieved without the assistance of 3D glasses. This is done on the 3DS by continuously sending separate images that are only slightly different from each other, to the user’s left and right eye. The gadget will also have a slider to control the 3D effect and even tone it down to a 2D effect.
The device was first announced in March and since then, rumors have placed the pricing of the 3DS between $249 to $299 and the release date for the gadget between October 2010 and March 2011.
