Sony has just announced a new Super 35mm equivalent CMOS HD Camcorder for high-end digital cinema production that uses the “E-mount” lens system: the “NXCAM” series, and plans to commercialize it in the first half of 2011.
E-Mount lenses (for instance α NEX-5 or NEX-3、HandyCam NEX-VG10) can easily be fitted to the camcorder, and other lens types can be used with adapters. The NXCAM can record video in AVCHD 1080p ((60P/30P/24P or 50p/25p) or in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264.
