I-O Data has just added a new external DVD writer to its range by announcing the DVRP-U8C. Coming in five different color options: red, blue, brown, black and white, this portable drive has a USB 2.0 connection interface and is capable of providing write speeds of up to 8x for DVD-R/+R, DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, DVD-R/+R DL, 5x for DVD-RAM, 24x for CD-R and 16x for CD-RW. The DVRP-U8C will become available next month for $77.
