Samsung is one of the worlds’ most popular electronics manufacturers with everything from smartphones and cameras to televisions and Blu-ray players. Despite being plagued with a delayed Android update scheduled the Samsung Galaxy S has remained one of the most successful smartphones powered by Google’s mobile platform.
However, Samsung recognizes that not everyone wants to incur an extra monthly fee when getting down on the Galaxy S which is why they released the YP-GB1 Galaxy Player which is essentially the Galaxy S without the phone – think iPod touch to iPhone. Well, despite only being available in South Korea, the Galaxy Player has sold 20,000 units in just 10 days. For those not familiar with the Galaxy Player’s specs, the device features Google’s Android 2.2, a 4-inch AMOLED display, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, front/rear facing cameras, WiFi and Bluetooth.
Unfortunately, there is still no word on when the Samsung Galaxy Player will be making the jump to North America but you’ll know the minute we do.
