Lexar’s New 64GB and 128GB SDXC Cards

Yeah, to the untrained eye they may look like just another pair of well-meaning memory cards but to the pros in the know, well, they’re speedy little things that may just grease the wheels of progress. Or at least make your little electronic gadgets work all that much more faster. You see, this pair of cards uses SDXC technology which allows for much faster read/write speeds. How fast you ask?

How about a guaranteed minimum 20MB per second? Who needs speeds that fast? Professional photographers, for the most part, but anyone who has more money than patience.

If that’s not fast enough for you then you’re going to have to search out something a little more integrated than removable memory cards. But seriously, these things are some of the fastest memory cards on the market today, and as such, you’d expect to be paying a premium price for them. And you will.

The 64GB card starts at $400 and the 128GB has a hefty $700 price tag. That’s what I was talking about when I said these cards would appeal to the professionals—they’re the only ones with enough scratch to drop on such things.

Of course, if you wait it out a while, these cards will eventually fall into the hands of the masses but will they have the equipment to make the most of them?
