Sony launches second generation PSP named NGP







Sony has finally showcased the second generation PlayStation portablegaming console.
They have named it NGP on the likes of Next Generation Portable gaming console.
The device is a solid update with pretty impressive hardwarespecifications.

The company said that the games for this new device would focus on several new generation technologies:
Revolutionary User Interface,
Social Connectivity,
Location-based Entertainment,
Converging Real,
Virtual (augmented) Reality

It remains compatible with their PlayStation Suite and would also support older PSP games.
The device comes loaded with a quad core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. Display is 5 inches OLED capable of 960 x 544 resolution. It also featuresdual analog sticks for game control. Network support includes 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. It also comes equipped with a touchpad at the backside. Sony had also put in smartphone features like accelerometer and gyroscope motion sensing along with a digital compass! There are two cameras as well!
Sony added that this console would support a brand new storage format for games. So they have pretty much discarded UMD.
