Wrist Worn Personal Computer

wrist computersTime for a new twist on a well known classic

In the world of computers and mobile communication, it’s no surprise that PC’s are getting smaller and smaller – the Zypad WL 1000 – Wrist-Worn Personal Computer shows that size really does matter. It is equipped with a touch screen interface, a mini keyboard and provides a 320 x 240 pixels resolution. The gadget combines the convenience of a mini computer with all the functionality and size of a wrist watch.

The Wrist Worn Personal Computer (WWPC) is completely compatible with all today’s standard software. The unit supports both Windows CE and Linux operating systems. It is integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, means you are always connected. It has a healthy average 8+ hours of operation and only weighs 290 grams with the battery included.

Prices range around 2000 USD mark for the WL 1000 and its offspring, the WL 1100. It a relatively high price point, but it is not that unreasonable, given just how much advanced technology this thing packs. Not much else not to dislike, but don’t expect this puppy to replace your netbook or office pc anytime yet. The watch may be a bit too go go gadget and too chunky for the more fashion conscious geeks out there.

Comfortable and lightweight, the WL 1000 will and does see operational use in entertainment, services, rescue, military and medical industries. Retailers will probably be interested in the finger ring scanner accessory for barcode scanning (1 and 2D versions available). All in all, for the gadget lovers out there, even with the high price point, this is one to have in your toy box and show off to your equally gadget conscious friends.
