iPad coming to India on January 28th???
The most waited, Apple iPad, finally going to come in India on 28th of this month(Jan 2011), reported The Telegraph.
This slim tablet has a multi-touch screen measuring 9.7 inches diagonally and uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching) enabling users to get a wide 178-degree viewing angle. It supports high definition video playback (up to 720p) and opens almost all video, audio files and documents. Moreover, the device will run on an enhanced version of the Apple iPhone OS and boasts of a 1GHz A4 processor with graphics.An iPad owner will be able to buy or download books for free using the iBook, display PDF’s and text files and will be also capable of doing PowerPoint and Excel jobs. The iPad will be an internet oriented device that supports 3G technology.
The iPad if released will be available in two versions. One with only Wifi providing 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage and the other with a Sim Card with 3G data connectivity and WiFi.

IPAD by BLACKBERRY
RIM has just announced their iPad tablet competitor, the BlackBerry PlayBook. They’re marketing it as the world’s first professional table and the specs look great, almost as though it was specifically designed to counter-program the iPad:
- 7-inch screen
- 1GHz dual-core processor (or is it 2GHz Cortex A9?)
- 1080p video with HDMI out
- Front and rear cameras
- HTML5 and Flash 10.1
- BES support (of course)
- Up to 1GB of RAM (?)
- Built on QNX OS

Apple App Store closing in on 10 billion downloads
Apple is quickly nearing 10 billion downloads in the App Store, and if you’re lucky enough to secure the ten billionth, you could pocket $10,000 in iTunes content. A countdown and contest details are featured on the App Store site, and as of 3 p.m. PST, there were a little over 200,000 downloads needed to reach the milestone.
Apple held a similar contest when it neared 10 billion iTunes downloads, a number that took eight years to reach. The App Store, in comparison, has needed less than three. Computer World estimates that at its current rate, the App Store will reach its 10 billionth downloaded app on January 23.
But there’s little time to celebrate before beginning the next countdown. Apple recently opened the Mac App Store, which offers the same service for Mac PCs and laptops. While limited to 1,000 apps to choose from on opening day, its content is quickly growing and it reportedly sold one million applications on its first day.
For the time being, try to calculate exactly how you can be lucky number 10 billion. Whoever can solve that equation totally deserves the prize.

China's iPad users get free TV broadcast
Users of Apple Inc's wireless tablet computer would be able to watch programmes of CNC's Chinese and world channels by downloading and installing the software from Apple stores free of charge, Xinhua reported.
The network's channels were earlier connected to iPhone users a month ago.
Wu Jincai, CNC president and deputy editor-in-chief of Xinhua news agency, said the broadcast through iPad will provide a new medium to audiences around the world to acquire Xinhua news.
The CNC started broadcasting Chinese programmes Jan 1 this year and officially launched its English language service called CNC World July 1

Evergreen Corp, a Japanese computer peripherals company that sells cheap no-brand products online under the Shanghai Donya brand, has started selling a SIM card cutter to convert your mini-SIM card, found in pretty much every SIM phone outside of the iPhone 4, into the same shape and size as the 3FF SIM used on the iPad (and the iPhone 4). The cutter comes with four micro-to-mini SIM adapters for putting it back in a phone that only accepts mini-SIMs. The cutter weighs 170g and measures 105x34x55 mm; SIM-cutting is at the user’s own risk.
