Samsung Releases D6400/D6500 Series 3D TVs In South Korea

Samsung has announced the availability of the D6400/D6500 Series 3D TVs for the South Korean market. Available in 40-inch, 46-inch and 55-inch variants, the Samsung D6400/D6500 Series 3D TVs feature a Clear Motion Rate (CMR) of 480Hz, a Crystal Black Panel, the Hyper-real engine and a smart-real motion picture support to reduce cross-talk and flickering. Both 3D TVs also have the ability to convert 2D content to 3D. Additional specs include Bluetooth 3D glasses support, Smart Hub UI and Samsung’s 3D VOD service. The Samsung D6400 3D TV series is priced at between 2,400,000 Won ($2,133) to 4,900,000 Won ($4,355), while the Samsung D6500 3D TV series is priced at between 2,600,000 Won ($2,310) to 5,200,000 Won ($4,621).

Sony Bravia Monolithic HDTVs

Sony today introduced a trio of new Monolithic Bravia full HDTVs, the 22-inch KDL-22EX42H, 32-inch KDL-32EX42H and 40-inch KDL-40EX42H. These HDTVs comes equipped with Sony’s Edge LED panel and a 500GB of internal HDD. The Sony Bravia Monolithic is able to record videos on an external Drive via USB port. These TVs comes with a full HD resolution panel on the 40-inch only, while the 32-inch and 22-inch comes with a 1366×768 panel. The Sony Bravia Monolithic will be available in Japan in March 2011.

Samsung to unveil Google TV in January

Samsung who was working out the business feasibility for Google TV a few months back hasconfirmed that Android OS-based TVs will be a reality next year. Boo-Keun Yoon, head of TV business has confirmed Samsung’s intentions about unveiling Google TVs in January and will mostly be at the CES where Boo-Keun Yoon will take the stage on January 6.

Although most of the details are kept under wraps, Yoon says the company is “open” to use Intel’s chips for its TVs.

China's iPad users get free TV broadcast

China's state-owned television network China Xinhua News Network Corporation (CNC) will provide a 24-hour free broadcast to iPad users in the country.

Users of Apple Inc's wireless tablet computer would be able to watch programmes of CNC's Chinese and world channels by downloading and installing the software from Apple stores free of charge, Xinhua reported.

The network's channels were earlier connected to iPhone users a month ago.

Wu Jincai, CNC president and deputy editor-in-chief of Xinhua news agency, said the broadcast through iPad will provide a new medium to audiences around the world to acquire Xinhua news.

The CNC started broadcasting Chinese programmes Jan 1 this year and officially launched its English language service called CNC World July 1
