Next iPhone images leaked, bigger display!

Now folks over at M.I.C Gadget got their hands on first leaked images of an iPhone which is completely different from the current model. As you can see in the image above, the screen size is slightly bigger than the current model and the display is edge-to-edge. I think this is the real iPhone 4S/iPhone 5 and the one we saw running on T-Mobile was just another prototype test version of White iPhone 4. It’s possible that this device will come with a dual-core A5 processor, 8 MP camera, and the latest unreleased version of iOS.

Check out another image of the leaked device in comparison with iPhone 4:

The iPad 2 will retain the 10-inch screen, hopefully incorporate a couple of cameras (and, most likely, FaceTime video chat), as well as a Retina display screen and more RAM and storage. Essentially the same, but ever so slightly better.

Verizon iPhone 4 Gets iOS 4.2.6 Firmware Update

In just over a weeks’ time, Verizon launch their iPhone 4. However, it seems Apple have already released an update for it, which is available for download direct from them. Apple Insider say it’s listed ‘for iPhone3,3, which is the identifier for the CDMA…’ Verizon’s version of the iPhone 4. They have tagged the 652mb update as Build 8E200.
One reason for this early release could be due to the number of journalists who, have been rumored, to have received units for reviewing already. If this is the case, these demo versions are running the iOS 4.2.5, which suggests that a few adjustments have been made since the press event in January, so as to make sure there are no major problems with the device before the launch on February 10th.

Curved iMac Concept

You don't have to venture very far to dig up unofficial concepts for Apple products of all sorts, but this one from designer Nuno Teixeira is certainly more attention grabbing than most, even if it isn't any more realistic. As if that wasn't enough, the concept also boasts a second screen on the rear (pictured after the break), and webcams on both the front and back, which would finally let you have impersonal conversations with the person sitting right across from you.

Apple App Store closing in on 10 billion downloads

Apple is ready to reward the lucky recipient of its ten billionth app.

Apple is quickly nearing 10 billion downloads in the App Store, and if you’re lucky enough to secure the ten billionth, you could pocket $10,000 in iTunes content. A countdown and contest details are featured on the App Store site, and as of 3 p.m. PST, there were a little over 200,000 downloads needed to reach the milestone.

Apple held a similar contest when it neared 10 billion iTunes downloads, a number that took eight years to reach. The App Store, in comparison, has needed less than three. Computer World estimates that at its current rate, the App Store will reach its 10 billionth downloaded app on January 23.

But there’s little time to celebrate before beginning the next countdown. Apple recently opened the Mac App Store, which offers the same service for Mac PCs and laptops. While limited to 1,000 apps to choose from on opening day, its content is quickly growing and it reportedly sold one million applications on its first day.

For the time being, try to calculate exactly how you can be lucky number 10 billion. Whoever can solve that equation totally deserves the prize.
